As far as most people are concerned, the Gitche Gumee Museum will always be Axel’s museum. He not only influenced me to be a rockhound and to be a better human being, he did the same for countless others. Thus, the new web page must continue to include pictures of Axel, to honor his legacy and his great contributions. Some of these images were scanned from old photographs, so their quality is a little lacking. Together, though, they capture the spunk, playfulness, and other positive qualities of Axel.
